Making municipal knowledge usable, linked & actionable
We unify zoning, code, parcel, procedural and institutional context into a conversational, explainable interface so staff, residents and businesses get clear answers instead of hunting through PDFs.
Our Mission
At Conflation Labs, our mission is to automate 100% of the robotic work in government. We believe public servants are hired for their judgment and expertise, not to spend their days wading through stagnant PDFs, legacy portals, and tribal knowledge. Our goal is not to replace people with agents, but to remove the robotic parts of their jobs so they can focus on the high-value work they were actually hired to do.
While we are starting by solving the friction-heavy complexity of zoning and land use, our eyes are set on every robotic query workflow across the municipal enterprise. We are building the foundational intelligence engine for the modern city, replacing administrative friction with instant and explainable answers. We will not stop until every manual lookup and redundant task is a thing of the past. By serving as the primary intelligence layer for all government data, we allow human experts to focus on the high-value work that builds thriving communities.
Our Team
We blend geospatial engineering, applied AI safety, retrieval, municipal planning operations, UX research and civic process design. We work side‑by‑side with planners, clerks, permit techs, inspectors, analysts and civic innovators so what we ship removes friction not adds another layer.
Our Values
These principles guide product decisions, architecture tradeoffs and how we collaborate with municipalities.
Trust & Transparency
Traceable sourcing, auditable reasoning, dependable uptime.
Inclusive Access
Lowering barriers to civic information for staff & the public.
Co-Built
Shaped alongside planners, clerks, inspectors, analysts & residents.
Pragmatic Innovation
Automation that reduces friction instead of adding process.

Collaborative build sessions with partner cities
How We Build
We operate like an embedded augmentation layer inside municipal teams observing real workflows, mapping decision paths, and instrumenting friction points before writing features. Every release is validated with real permitting, planning, agenda prep or public inquiry workloads.

Why Now
Municipal knowledge is scattered across ordinances, zoning layers, archives, legacy notes, staff expertise and institutional memory. Traditional digitization didn't resolve fragmentation it just produced more portals. Advances in retrieval augmented generation, geospatial conflation and explainability let us unify these layers into a single reasoning surface. We're here to collapse time-to-answer from hours to seconds while preserving accuracy and governance.
Build the Municipal AI you actually want
We're selecting 5-8 municipal partners to shape the product. Free access during the design phase. 1-2 hours of feedback per week.
