The Opportunity
We're seeking a dynamic Sales Consultant to join our growing team and help municipalities across the country discover how our AI tool can transform their operations. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge GovTech startup that's solving real problems for city staff, residents, and businesses.
This is a part-time, commission-only remote/hybrid role perfect for experienced sales professionals who want flexibility while building significant earning potential in the rapidly growing municipal technology sector.
What You'll Do
Customer Engagement & Development
- Identify and engage with municipal decision-makers including City Managers, Planning Directors, IT Directors, and Economic Development staff
- Conduct compelling product demonstrations showcasing our AI assistant's capabilities
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in target municipalities
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact to contract signing
Sales Process Management
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned territories or market segments
- Qualify leads and manage a robust pipeline of municipal prospects
- Create customized proposals that address specific city needs and challenges
- Coordinate with our technical team to ensure smooth design partner onboarding
Customer Success & Training
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
- Educate prospects on the benefits of AI-powered municipal tools
- Support new design partners during implementation phase
- Gather customer feedback to inform product development
Market Intelligence
- Stay current on municipal technology trends and competitive landscape
- Identify new market opportunities and use cases
- Represent Conflation Labs at relevant industry conferences and events
- Contribute to marketing content based on customer insights
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS, technology, or government sectors
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Experience with consultative selling and complex sales cycles
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with excellent time management abilities
- Comfortable working in a commission-only structure
Preferred Qualifications
- Government/municipal sales experience highly valued
- Familiarity with GIS, urban planning, or municipal operations
- Experience selling to local government decision-makers
- Understanding of zoning, permitting, or economic development processes
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
