Architect I–II, Plan Review & Code Compliance

About This Role

We are hiring an Architect I or II to bring real-world architectural and permitting judgment into the product. This is not a traditional production design role. You will help us improve how the platform reads plans, interprets regulations, and communicates potential issues. You will work closely with product, engineering, GIS, and planning experts to ensure the software reflects how permitting actually works. Prior AI experience is not required. We are looking for someone who understands the difference between a plausible answer and a useful, defensible one.

Key Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, site plans, and construction documents.
• Interpret zoning rules, development standards, building codes, and local amendments.
• Validate product findings against source drawings and regulations.
• Identify missed issues, false positives, and practical edge cases.
• Turn architectural and permitting knowledge into review criteria, test cases, and product feedback.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve plan-review workflows.

In this role, you must have

• Architect I: 0–3 years of relevant architecture, construction-document, or permitting experience.
• Architect II: 3–7 years of experience with construction documentation, code research, zoning, permitting, or interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret regulatory documents.
• Familiarity with zoning, building codes, development standards, or permitting workflows.
• Clear written communication and strong attention to detail.

You might thrive in this role if you have

• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, IBC, GIS, municipal review, or entitlement work.
• Licensure or progress toward licensure is welcome, but not required.
